フランスの政治家であり、フランス革命初期の中心指導者であり立憲君主制を主張していたミラボー伯爵オノレ・ガブリエル・ド・リケティ

彼を称える意味も込められており、ミラボーの墓標が表現されたファイアンス焼きです。

１６世紀末から陶器生産が始まり長い歴史のある人気の高いヌヴェール窯です。

ひとつひとつ手作業で丁寧に作られ、ハンドペイントが美しい
フランスの歴史を感じられる一枚です。

【Faience of Nevers Faience Manufactory – “Tomb of Honoré Gabriel Riqueti, comte de Mirabeau” / Late 18th Century】

A late 18th century faience plate from Nevers, depicting the tomb of Mirabeau.

Mirabeau was a French politician and one of the key figures in the early years of the
French Revolution, known for supporting a constitutional monarchy.

This piece was likely created in tribute to him, reflecting the spirit of the time.

Nevers has been producing pottery since the late 16th century and is one of the most historic and well-loved faience centres in France.

Each piece was carefully made by hand, and the hand-painted decoration gives it a quiet strength and presence.

A plate that truly carries a sense of French history.
