【French Vintage Milk Glass/フランス製のヴィンテージミルクグラス】
九角形のポテっとしたデザインが可愛らしいミルクグラスです。
ミルクガラスは名前の通り、ミルクのような乳白色をしたガラスのことで、17世紀頃(1600年代)のヨーロッパで誕生しました。元々は、貴族や王室向けの装飾品として広がりました。
現在は、食器やコップ・ランプシェードや花瓶など幅広く使われています。
フランスらしい上品なデザインと厚手で温かみのある雰囲気が印象的です。
ミルクガラスはプレス成型で作られるのが一般的で、角の数が多いほど型作りが複雑のようです。九角形というのは非常に珍しく、少数生産か特注品の可能性が高いです。
実用性とデザイン製のバランスが取れたヴィンテージらしい一脚です。

【French Vintage Milk Glass】
A lovely French vintage milk glass with a soft octagonal shape.
The slightly chunky form gives it a warm and gentle feel.
Milk glass, as the name suggests, is a milky white glass.
It first appeared in Europe around the 17th century and was originally made as decorative pieces for aristocrats and royal households.
Today it is widely used for tableware, lampshades, vases and more.
The elegant French design and thick glass give it a calm, warm presence.
A nice vintage piece that balances practicality and design.
You could also enjoy it as a small vase or simply display it.
